Marcus Addis, a new restaurant featuring a fusion of international cuisine with an Ethiopian twist. This restaurant is a partnership between Albwardy Hospitality, Hyatt as operator and the world-renowned chef and author Marcus Samuelsson, who is a James Beard Foundation Award winner and has been featured on popular cooking shows such as “Top Chef” and “Chopped.”
Marcus Addis will be located on the 47th floor of the new Commercial Bank of Ethiopia building, the tallest building in East Africa standing at 209 meters. The interior of the new restaurant is a modern masterpiece that expertly incorporates Ethiopian art and culture into the dining experience. It’s a stunning blend of contemporary and traditional styles that will captivate guests. The menu features a mix of international favorites with unique African twists, like the Teff Biscuits served with local honey and sweet potato jam that pay homage to Ethiopia’s staple grain.
“This is a homecoming for me,” says Samuelsson. “My culinary journey has always been influenced by my family roots here in Ethiopia and Marcus Addis celebrates that heritage in every detail.” The first restaurant by Samuelsson on the African continent, Marcus Addis expands the acclaimed chef’s list of world class restaurants including Red Rooster Harlem and Ginny’s Supper Club in New York City; Norda in Sweden; and Marcus at Baha Mar Fish + Chop House.
